Ink it out and screen it in
Posted by Rachel Fenbert on
Starting during the Song Dynasty in China around 960-1279 CE, Screen printing, originally called silk screening due to the silk used for the screen, has gone through many changes and seen a beautiful landscape of artistry.

Fast-forward to Andy Warhol in the 1960’s and, in conjunction with Michael Vasilantone’s invention of the first multi-color garment screen printing machine, we saw an explosion of this wonderful medium that is still felt today.

Shilling Sales has been providing screen printing services since the 1990’s and screen printing has changed significantly since the Song Dynasty, we no longer use silk for the screens, but now opt for the more durable nylon and polyester.
To create a screen print item an image is turned into a stencil and ink is pulled through to create a pattern, the more complicated the image the more stencils are required; utilizing a machine like Michael Vasilantone’s garments and items are decorated step by step creating one cohesive image. Please note that we require a minimum order of 24 pieces for screenprint items.
